how does m.meta(studies) Return Overall Resul
Leroy Jenkins @2023-09-21 15:35:23

The first row returned from m.meta(studies) is the overall results, but I cant figure out what all the numbers mean. I know one some of them are p-values, and others are the statistical test stats, but how do I know what order theyre returned in? And most important, which number is the overall pooled effect?

Why doesnt this support more than 200&nb
Joe @2023-09-18 00:09:19

I noticed if I try to use more than 200 studies in a meta analysis, it breaks and returns null. why is that? is there a fix? Could you make the repository public so that we can download/help fix issues with this package?

admin @2023-09-19 22:51:00
For certain reasons, we have set an upper limit of 200 for the number of studies included in each analysis. Do you really need to include over 200 studies in a meta-analysis? If you are firmly yes, you can modify the source code to reset this number.

Thank you making PythonMeta, it has been very helpful for me in doing an evidence map.
I hope if the size of the label becomes adjustable on the next update?

PyMeta
Hamilton Oh @2023-01-08 07:32:12

Hi,

Thank you making PythonMeta, it has been very helpful for me in doing a meta analysis on mean differences.

I was hoping you could tell me if it is possible to use PythonMeta, where the input contains pre-computed effect sizes, standard errors, and sample sizes. I want to do a meta analysis of hazard ratios, and this measure is not implemented in the package.

Best,
Hamilton

Meta-Analysis
Natalie @2022-12-03 20:35:04

This is the only understandable information i can find, regarding Meta-Analysis. This has been very helpful in successfully completing my Meta-Analysis assignment.

Thank you for creating this.

Would it be possible for you to include the reasoning behind choosing effect measure, algorithm etc?

Many thanks,
Natalie

Continuity Corrections in PyMeta
Nolan Cole @2021-11-09 00:09:49

Hello,

We think PythonMeta and PyMeta are great.

We are writing a paper about continuity corrections (CCs) for rare event meta-analysis, and we would like to inform readers which CCs are implemented in various meta-analysis software.

We couldnt find the documentation for this. Do you know what CC is used when you have 0 events in a study arm?

Best,
Nolan

Variance Estimator for Effect Size in Py

I am writing a paper about different variance estimators in effect size measures, and I hope that you can let me know which formula PyMeta uses for to estimate the variance in effect size.

Subgroup and Sensitivity Analysis
Krystal @2021-08-13 01:21:49

I would like to analyze subgroups and run a sensitivity analysis in Python rather than on the website. However:
1. The program is ignoring the subgroup tags
2. There are no instructions for how to perform a sensitivity analysis in Python. What is the command?

Jerry @2021-03-15 08:03:03

Questions/needs:
1) Is there a way to change the text below the axis (favors control vs experiment)?
2) Is there were to prevent the - tick-marks from showing up - these are present on even empty lines.
3) Is there a way to show the data next to the study names? As well as the relative ratios?
4) Is there a way to control the color of the text/bars?

Sorry, all your concerns do not yet supported by the package itself currently. It is suggested that you may work on the source code to achieve the features what you listed.

Python package not working fully
Jerry @2021-03-15 08:01:38

First, thank you for doing this! We need a solid metanalysis tool for python and this seems to be on the right track!

I am trying to learn this packages. I ran your example code with the sub-groups. I noticed three issues:
1) the program is not taking into account the sub-group heading;
2) the program is ignoring the nototals command.
3) program takes out the space in the study names (it shouldnt)

Questions/needs:
1) Is there a way to change the text below the axis (favors control vs experiment)?
2) Is there were to prevent&n

Unfortunately, Im having the same issue. The library is completely ignoring subgroups and nototals. However, the online calculator seems to work just fine. Is it going to fully work in the future?
